Frequently asked questions

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. The PDFs and images are opened and merged in your browser, and the new PDF is saved to your device. Nothing is uploaded to a server.

How do I change the order of the documents?

On a computer, drag a file to a new place in the list. On a phone or with the keyboard, use the up and down arrows next to each file. The PDF is merged in the order the files appear in the list.

Can I take only some of the pages?

Yes. In the “Pages” box next to a PDF, type e.g. “1-3, 5” for the first three pages and the fifth, “4-” for everything from the fourth page to the end, or “3-1” for the first three in reverse order. An empty box means all pages.

Can I combine photos into a PDF?

Yes. Each image (JPG, PNG or WebP) becomes one A4 page, portrait or landscape to match the image. Photos from a phone are turned the right way up.

What isn't carried over into the merged PDF?

Pages are carried over as they are, but bookmarks (the outline in the sidebar) and fillable form fields aren't. So fill in a form first, save or print it as a PDF, and then merge it.

Why can't I add my PDF?

If the PDF is password-protected or locked against changes, the tool can't merge it. Open it in your browser or a PDF program, print it to a new PDF (“Save as PDF”) and try again.

Does it cost anything?

No. The tool is free, with no sign-up and no limit on the number of files. Very large documents depend only on your device's memory.
