Frequently asked questions

Is my document uploaded anywhere?

No. The tool runs in your browser: the PDF is opened, signed and saved on your device. Nothing is uploaded to a server, so neither we nor anyone else can see the document.

Is a signature like this legally valid?

This is a simple electronic signature, that is, an image of your signature on the document. For many everyday things, such as consent forms, confirmations, quotes or internal forms, that's enough. Some documents, however, require a qualified electronic signature, one backed by a certificate (e.g. from an ID card or an e-signature app), and this tool is no substitute for that. If you're not sure, ask whoever you're sending the document to.

Can I sign a PDF on my phone?

Yes. Choose a PDF, draw your signature with your finger and tap the spot on the page where you want it. You can move the signature with your finger and resize it by dragging the handle in the bottom right corner.

How do I sign or initial every page?

Place the signature on one page, click it and choose “On all pages”. The signature will appear in the same spot on every page.

How do I add a date or name next to the signature?

In step 2 choose “Text”, type what you need or click “Insert today's date”, then place it on the document just like a signature.

Why can't I open my PDF?

If the PDF is password-protected or locked against changes, the tool can't sign it. Open it in your browser or a PDF program, print it to a new PDF (“Save as PDF”) and try again.

Does it cost anything?

No. The tool is free, with no sign-up and no limit on the number of documents.
